The key role of a pharmacy technician is to manage the supply of medicines under the supervision of a registered pharmacist.
This course is designed to equip the student with the essential skills required to become a registered pharmacy technician. To register as a pharmacy technician, as required by the General Pharmaceutical Council, the candidate need the Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Pharmacy Service Skills along with the Level 3 Diploma in Pharmaceutical Science which can be taken separately or as part of an apprenticeship for pharmacy.
This qualification has been designed for those working in a pharmacy setting, either in the community or in a hospital. The qualification meets the needs of the pharmacy sector and related sector regulators and the requirements for endorsement of skills for Health as the relevant Sector Skills Council for use in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
This course provides the opportunity to learn about the various aspects of pharmacy including pharmaceutical science, pharmacy practice, pharmaceutics, laws and ethics, action and uses of drugs and disease management.
