Course

An apprenticeship is a work-based training programme that provides you with practical skills through on-the-job training combined with theoretical knowledge through off-the-job learning. An apprenticeship will give you the best of worlds, learning and working, enabling you to earn money whilst gaining qualifications and experience. This apprenticeship is best suited to those wishing to work towards the requirements to register as a Pharmacy Technician.

Advance Level 3 Apprenticeship in Health (Pharmacy Services)

This Advanced Apprenticeship is ideal for those looking to gain both knowledge and competency-based qualifications. This is a two-year course, where you will attend college one day per week. As a modular programme, there will also be continuous assessment carried out within your work place.

After the successful completion of the apprenticeship programme an apprentice gains the vocational qualifications and will be able to register with the General Pharmaceutical council as a Pharmacy Technician.

Apprenticeship framework consists of following components:

  • Competence = Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Pharmacy Service Skills (QCF)
  • Knowledge = Level 3 Diploma in Pharmaceutical Science
  • Functional Skills = Maths and English at Level 2
  • Employee Rights and Responsibilities (ERR) = complete workbook
  • Personal Learning and Thinking Skills

Entry Requirements

Candidates must be 16-24 years. Desirable GCSE grade A-C in Maths, English and Science or equivalent qualifications however if you do not meet the desired criteria then  the college will enrol you for further qualifications ( Functional skills whcih is equalivallnet to GCSE A-C)

Duration

Average duration for completion is 18 month

Advance Level 2 Apprenticeship in Health (Pharmacy Services)

This intermediate Apprenticeship is ideal for those looking to gain both knowledge and competency-based qualifications. This is  8 to 12 months course, where you will attend college once a month . As a modular programme, there will also be continuous assessment carried out within your work place.

 

Apprenticeship framework consists of following components:

  • Competence = Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Pharmacy Service Skills (QCF)
  • Knowledge = Level 2 Certificate in Pharmaceutical Science
  • Functional Skills = Maths and English at Level 1

Average duration for completion is maximum12 month
